Can't Seem To Find (Live)
Album: n/a
Genres: Jambands
This here's a summertime road trip song if ever there was one! But don't be surprised if you can't find the destination -- the band doesn't seem to know where it is either.

This live version of "Can't Seem To Find" from the group's 2000 release L does little to showcase moe.'s brand of improvisational jam rock. It's a bouncy little ditty that meanders into Sun Volt-esque y'allternative territory, harmonica and all. The guitar solo takes a while to go anywhere -- once it takes off you're allowed a glimpse of what these boys are capable of, but you're ultimately left disappointed that you didn't get to see the full picture. Lyrically it's really a bit weak, but melodically it's a pretty, simple song, which makes it perfect for a drive with your best friend on your way to that summer festival you've been saving up for. That aside, though, it's really pretty vanilla. These boys can mix up the flavor better than this.

I've been hearing a lot about moe. lately, so I decided to check out this song, with no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised, the harmonice parts and chous are reminiscent of Uncle Tupelo and other similar acts. This is a good song, but I would probably suggest a studio recording for other first time listeners, because the jamming gets long-winded toward the end of the song.
