The pride of Calabasas turn their smash-hit rocker into a sensitive acoustic meditation. Get out yer lighters! |

This acoustic version of "Pardon Me," the big song from Make Yourself, might surprise some people; the aggression of the original version is replaced by Mike Eizinger's wistful guitar strums, and Brandon Boyd's vocals are emotional without sounding forced or melodramatic. The song suffers when Boyd tries to cram too many words into his verses, and the melody isn't the strongest you've ever heard. But overall, this version should appeal to folks who wish that the Foo Fighters were less glib, or that Bush had a decent sense of humor.
