This live performance on CBS’s Late Show ended with Eddie Vedder presenting Mike McCready’s guitar to host David Letterman as a birthday gift. The band tried out a song from the upcoming record Binaural, full of Gossard’s patented catchy but driving guitar riffs and Vedder’s anguished, indecipherable vocals. This is Pearl Jam in its straight-ahead, rocking-out mode, and though it may not be the most original sound in the world, it’s hard to deny the passion with which it’s performed. |
