Eurythmics Beautiful Child Album: Peace
Genres: Pop
Sweet dreams are made of this talented duo, whose reunion album hit the UK top five. Their new download is dreamy in its own right. Would we lie to you? |

In the years since Eurythmics’ last record, Annie Lennox has transformed herself from a pop provocateur into an assured diva, albeit one without the usual grand manner. “Beautiful Child” showcases her strong, clear, expressive voice amid fluttering strings and brushed drums. Its hopeful message makes for sweet listening, though the unnecessary symphonic fillips submerge the melody’s power; the sole acoustic guitar that accompanies Lennox in the beginning would have sufficed. Still, this gentle ballad won’t disappoint the band’s old fans, and might earn them some new ones.

A soft croon tune from one of the UK's smoothest voices. The ballad mixes Lennox's superb voice with a symphonic backing, which is really quite remarkable.

The entire album was well worth the wait, hopefully they will produce another album before too long. It's hard to wait ten years for them.
