	In the years since Eurythmics� last record, Annie Lennox has transformed herself from a pop provocateur into an assured diva, albeit one without the usual grand manner. �Beautiful Child� showcases her strong, clear, expressive voice amid fluttering strings and brushed drums. Its hopeful message makes for sweet listening, though the unnecessary symphonic fillips submerge the melody�s power; the sole acoustic guitar that accompanies Lennox in the beginning would have sufficed. Still, this gentle ballad won�t disappoint the band�s old fans, and might earn them some new ones.

A soft croon tune from one of the UK's smoothest voices. The ballad mixes Lennox's superb voice with a symphonic backing, which is really quite remarkable.
