Amon Tobin Sordid Album: Permutation
Genres: Electronic
Amon Tobin's "Sordid" is a spectacular example of how exotic sonic vibes and textures can mesh together to create one of electronica's most innovative songs. |

While it may not be the best track on his spectacular Permutation album (that honor must go to the chaotic exotica of "Night Life" in this reviewer's humble opinion), Amon Tobin's "Sordid" still gives a good taste of what his sound is all about. He offers up wicked breakbeats and electronic squelches expertly meshed with the vibes of swinging be-bop, moody spy-jazz soundtracks, orchestral string flourishes and much more. The track is a fine selection from one of 1998's most outstanding releases.
