Karl Denson's Tiny Universe The BBQ Song (Fallen) Album: n/a
Genres: Jambands
Nine minutes of greasy jazz-funk, hot off the HOB grill. Put the “jam” back in jam bands with the former Kravitz saxman! |

When you know how to work a groove -- really work it -- nine minutes can slip by in the blink of an eye. And that’s what happens on this fat, fun and funky R&B jam from Karl Denson & Co., which offers musings on all the important topics of life in the summer: chicks and barbeque. The warmth is palpable, the groove unstoppable. Even the obligatory solo noodling (much more guitar than Denson’s own hornwork) isn’t a drag. Geez, this is the kind of tune that could give “jamming” a good name.
