Toni's little sister proves she ain't so little after all in this bumpin' anti-playa anthem.

“There’s a couple things I just don’t do / I won’t be no ho / Just drop my clothes and all the silly things you’re used to,” asserts Toni’s little sis in her breathy, tremulous voice, set to a bumpin’ hip hop beat.

See, baby girl has scruples. A player can throw her all the diamonds and expensive trips he wants, but cash ain’t buying this ass, nosiree. Her anti-player stance is illustrated by “he said/she said” rhyme-swapping by rappers JD and Amil. Amidst all the attitude and posturing, a positive message about self-respect floats to the top: “If you’re steppin,’ approach me like a lady or there is no need at all / I take my time / Don’t cross the line / Until I really know.”

As you listen, keep in mind that Tamar, the daughter of a Methodist preacher, was brought in a strict Christian household. It tints the whole song with a tasty shade of irony.
