Dropkick Murphys Road of the Righteous Album: Singles Collection
Genres: Punk
Punk rock will never die. Just ask this stridently populist Boston quartet, who look back towards the Clash for inspiration. |

Despite their heavy-handed political messages, the Dropkick Murphys manage to create catchy, anthemic rave-ups. “Road of the Righteous” is typical of the band’s gritty, rousing bash of guitar-bass-drums, heavily marked by the old-school punk of the Clash and the folk-tinged realism of the Pogues. In other words, it’s just what you’d expect from a group that prides itself on its working-class Irish-American heritage. Like their mentors in Rancid, the Murphys aren’t reinventing the wheel; still, you could do worse than this earnest slab of third-generation punk rock.

An average punk-song...nothing really new or exciting, but it will still get you moving.
