Forget all that “go with the flow” stuff. Time keeps on ticking, the world keeps on spinning and the seasons come and go, and if you sit around on your ass waiting for things to happen, your kids won’t have much of a legacy to inherit, will they?! Casually sliding from song into cautionary spoken word, she gives procrastinators and flakes a non-preachy but firm FYI: “Take note / Wastin’ time is no joke.” Ironically, this simple, pleasant track is anything but motivational -- the gently funkin’ bassline and Mo’s silky voice make the listener want to kick back, sink into the couch and do very little at all.       David Wollock     David Wollock created and edited the groundbreaking hip-hop publication Rap Sheet.
