Jucifer singer/guitarist Amber Valentine admires perky former MTV VJ Tabitha Soren -- or does she? Her “worship” has a distinct sarcasm about it, the point being that it’s an empty existence when celebrities like Soren become our heroes. On “Hero Worship,” Jucifer’s MUSICBLITZ Exclusive, Valentine’s guitar carries the buzzing weight of a bass, while drummer Ed Livengood expertly balances technical prowess and raw rock energy. Jucifer has definitely listened to a lot of Pixies and Nirvana, digesting the combo of the heavy and the melodic, and turning it into modern rock with a distinctly cynical bite.

I'm a sucker for a fuzzbox, hence my love for Helium, but this dittie is far more accessible than anything Mary Timony has ever penned.
