He doesn’t have the prophetic delivery of some of his reggae brethren, but Frazer’s minor-key musing on the Ten Commandments still packs a quiet punch. Offering a classic late-‘70s roots sound with a few dubby electro-effects, “Moses” is a heartfelt homage to the Old Testament giant, whose mission to free the Israelites in Egypt has special meaning for Rastafarians wanting to be delivered from Babylon. The connection’s made clearest by Frazer’s yearning tenor, which makes the plea to “free my children” resonate.
