Since embarking on his solo career almost 20 years ago, Don Henley has given a voice to middle America, providing a musical backdrop to their hopes and their hardships. Releasing his fourth solo effort, Inside Job, after an 11-year hiatus, the former Eagle proves he's still in tune with the common man. On this track off the album, Henley sings of his gratitude for a love found late in life. What makes it so effective? Perhaps it’s his voice, which, though worn by time, sounds as strong as ever; maybe it’s his dusty piano melody, which evokes hope in every strike of the black and white keys. Whatever it is, Henley makes his personal outpouring a universal one, to which any man or woman can relate. Simply put, this is one gorgeous comeback.
