As producer, mixer and DJ, Omar Santana has been a part of the American rave scene since its infancy in the early '90s. So it's fairly safe to say he had a personal stake in recording this track. "Raver Damnation" features sampled men and women, seemingly taken from a news broadcast, voicing their ignorance and concerns about raves. Santana weaves these samples throughout his thudding breakbeats and speedy analog noises, making these skeptics part of that which they fear the most. At a time when raves are once again the target of sensationalist new stories and the subject of feature-length films, Santana presents rave's detractors with a simple challenge: Don't knock it 'til you try it.

'Drug taking to a dance beat' what a fun sample - straight from the mouths of the uneducated media whores! Omar Santana makes a blazing main-room anthem out of CNN and 20/20 sounding vocal snippets of 'concerned adults'. What is there to be concerned about when all we are doing is having fun?!
