Here’s a little ditty about a fox on the run from the police and her parents -- seems she’s stayed out way past her curfew, and singer Rick Sims wants to help. His voice struts and preens like an arena rocker, but it’s got a razor edge of John Lydon and Pete Shelley in it as well. Unlike your average punk-rock guitarist, Sims mastered three chords long ago, and his abilities give the Gaza Strippers’ sound a hint of glam flourish. Make no mistake, though, “Juvenile Detention” isn’t about showing off the bandmembers’ technique: it’s about rock, baby.
