King's X Marsh Mellow Field Album: Please Come Home… Mr. Bulbous
Genres: Metal
This “Marsh Mellow Field” may be a bit too flowery for some, but the field where King’s X play is entirely its own. |

On “Marsh Mellow Field,” bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick repeatedly implores “oh, won’t you take me out of my mind,” but it sounds more like King’s X are already out of their minds. Like its title implies, the song floats on bright, fluffy chords hypnotically spun by guitarist Ty Tabor. And although Tabor’s melody is confined to a limited handful of notes, he and his bandmates are wise enough to vary the volume levels, deftly moving between loud and soft aural textures. This dynamic creates an ebb ‘n’ flow that evokes the hovering “heavenly” vibe so characteristic of King’s X’s work. Of course, the trio’s silky, Beatles-esque vocal harmonies further contribute to this signature vibe. Granted, “Marsh Mellow Field” may be a bit too flowery for some, but the field where King’s X play is entirely its own.

Great! Although this song is not brutally heavy, but King's X managed to create a beautiful song with all rocks element such as catchy and rockin' solo and hard drivin' chorus part. Highly recommended.
