Anthrax Ball of Confusion Album: Return of the Killer A's
Genres: Metal
Joey Belladonna returns for a tag-team crack at this over-done (and totally outdated) Temptations tune. Hey, at least they didn't try "My Girl"! |

Recorded especially for Attack of the Killer A's, Anthrax's recent greatest hits CD, "Ball of Confusion" is most notable for its duet between former Anthrax lead singer Joey Belladonna and current frontman John Bush. I mean, jeez, can you imagine David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar ever pulling such a stunt? Too bad the old Temptations classic has already been done to death -- Tina Turner, Love and Rockets, Duran Duran, and even Whoopi Goldberg have all gotten to it first -- and that the song's once-timely lyrics about Beatles albums and Indian reservations have dated rather horrendously after thirty-some years. The track delivers plenty of 'Thrax's patented crunch, of course, but forgets to serve up any imagination along with it. In other words, this one's strictly for the fans.
