Hatebreed Before Dishonor Album: Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire
Genres: Metal
Double-barrelled thrash with a definite late-'80s edge. Who knew that a band from a weak-ass state like Connecticut could sound this tough? |

"Everyone has a destiny -- I'll choose my own!" Admirable sentiments indeed, and it's hard not to doubt the sincerity of Jamey Jasta's hoarse delivery. The double-barrelled attack of this cut from Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire is suitably loud and intense, and the band avoids overstaying their welcome by bringing the track in at under three minutes. Frankly, Hatebreed's music isn't anything groundbreaking, but it is a nice throwback to the late '80s, when bands like the Cro-Mags, Anthrax and Murphy's Law ruled the East Coast with their mixture of hardcore punk and thrashy metal. If you missed all that the first time around, Hatebreed will be more than happy to rub your face in it now.
