OtherStarPeople’s MUSICBLITZ Exclusive, “Holiday,” is as bright and sunshiny as its title implies. Clever and catchy, it’s bubblegum in the best sense of the word -- it’s sweet, and sticks in your head like gum sticks to your shoe. Watch out, though, ‘cause this gum has a tart, rockin' center that catches you by surprise!

“Holiday” is a spiritual cousin to the similarly-titled Go-Go’s classic, “Vacation,” with a comparable peppy sound and summery attitude, but OtherStarPeople immediately distinguish themselves from their predecessors by their sexy and sly male-female vocals -- Precious (nee Jennifer) Finch and Xander Smith playing off each other perfectly. OSP further set themselves apart with a thrashy guitar sound and punky, shouted accents. The end result feels like the offspring of the Go-Go’s and Cheap Trick -- power pop with an attitude!

Perfect lyrical touches like “You like to think you are the one that makes the sun come up / You like to think you are the jelly in the donut / I know it’s, I know it’s true” are the icing on the cake. “Holiday” is two minutes and forty-six seconds of pure pop perfection, with just the right amount of new wave sass. A minor classic in the making!
