Alison Krauss It Doesn't Matter Album: Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The Album
Genres: Alt-Country
Bluegrass-pop chanteuse Alison Krauss might claim “It Doesn’t Matter,” but her sadly beautiful performance dictates otherwise -- this weeper’s a keeper. |

Alison Krauss has become an expert in the field of heartbreak as evidenced by ‘99s Forget About It and affirmed by “It Doesn’t Matter,” one of few peaks from the mostly abysmal Buffy The Vampire Slayer: TV Soundtrack. The song -- which veers closer to celtic than country -- is a beautifully morose, lilting ballad driven by the bluegrass minstrel’s emotive delivery. Longing lyrics like “Throw you to the wind, you fly away” and “Feel the sting of tears” get a bluesy reading, augmented by numerous tasty acoustic flourishes. Equally ethereal and accessible, “It Doesn’t Matter” deserves your ears.

*sigh* I just love this song.

This song starts out slow, and you keep waiting for it to pick up, but it never does. Alison Krauss has a beautiful voice, but the song just isn't very interesting to listen to.
