C-Murder He’s not your typical soldier in the No Limit army. C-Murder, aka Corey Miller, is the li’l brother of label impresario Master P, and the big bro of No Limit star Silkk the Shocker. The New Orleans native, whose lyrical flow is often compared to the late Tupac Shakur, joined his two siblings for his recording debut as part of Tru, an all-in-the-family supergroup. The trio’s first effort, 1995’s True, went platinum, and a 1997 followup, Tru to Da Game, doubled that feat. C-Murder also made cameos on Master P’s Ghetto D and the I’m ‘Bout It soundtrack that year, but by then, he was ready to join his brothers as a solo act too, and dropped Life or Death in 1998. Produced by No Limit house crew Beats By the Pound, it also did the platimun trick, and was followed in 1999 by the gold-selling “Bossalinie,” bringing Snoop Dogg and Kurupt on board to guest. Snoop returned, and was joined by Silkk and Mystikal, on Trapped in Crime, C-Murder’s third solo album, released in September 2000. When not on the mic, C-Murder keeps busy with his own record and production companies, Tru Records and Deadly Soundz. |
