MUSICBLITZ ADDS FORMER POLYGRAM RECORDS AND EMI / SBK RECORDS EXECUTIVES REBECCA CARROLL AND MIKE MENA TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

Also Appoints Lisa Feldman, Director of Soundtracks, Film, and Television Licensing and Stan Savage, Director of Artists and Repertoire (A&R)

LOS ANGELES-February 22, 2000-MUSICBLITZ, a consumer-oriented music company that is redefining the relationships between consumers, artists and record labels, today announced that it has added Rebecca Carroll, vice president of artist development/New York, and Mike Mena, vice president of artist development/Los Angeles, to its senior management team.

Carroll brings to MUSICBLITZ more than 10 years of experience in the music industry, most recently as the senior director of artist development at Polygram Records, Inc. Mena also has more than 10 years of music industry experience, having previously held director and senior executive-level positions at EMI/SBK Records, A&M Records and Combustion Records, where he was responsible for discovering and promoting several top-selling artists. Prior to joining MUSICBLITZ, Mena was the director of business development at The Album Network.

"The one overriding criterion we have for everyone on the MUSICBLITZ executive team is a demonstrated passion for music," said Bryan Glover, executive vice president. "Rebecca and Mike clearly exude this passion. They also both have impressive track records in artist development and promoting new and superstar artists."

MUSICBLITZ provides the resources and funding for established and up-and-coming artists to record exclusive new singles, which consumers can download for free at the Company's Web site (http://www.musicblitz.com) and in its genre-specific Web communities. The most popular singles, as determined by the number of downloads, are then licensed for use in film, television, commercials, soundtracks and compilations.

Based in New York, Carroll runs MUSICBLITZ's college marketing team and oversees marketing for the MUSICBLITZ artist roster. She is also in charge of marketing for MUSICBLITZ's other record label clients and she manages the development of MUSICBLITZ's visual brand and merchandising elements. Carroll was most recently the senior director of artist development at Polygram. During her tenure, she developed and supervised the college marketing program and held a number of label- and distribution-based artist development positions, including director of marketing at London Records. She also ran marketing campaigns for several platinum-selling artists, most notably The Cranberries, Soundgarden, 311 and Portishead.

In Los Angeles, Mena is responsible for artist development operations, which includes signing, developing and promoting MUSICBLITZ's artist roster. During his tenure at EMI/SBK Records, Mena discovered and signed the multi-million selling artists Blur and Jesus Jones. He later launched the comeback record for Jesus Jones while at Combustion Records. Earlier in his career, Mena was the director of alternative marketing at A&M Records where he achieved several number one records with artists including UB40, Suzanne Vega, Soul Asylum and Iggy Pop. He has been nominated for several industry awards, including Gavin Radio Person of the Year and CMJ Promotion Person of the Year.

In addition to Rebecca Carroll and Mike Mena, MUSICBLITZ announced two other new hires today. Lisa Feldman, director of soundtracks, film, and television licensing, joins MUSICBLITZ from Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) where she was previously the associate director of film/TV relations. Stan Savage, director of artists and repertoire (A&R), comes to MUSICBLITZ from Loosegroove Records (Queens of The Stoneage) and Curtis Management (Pearl Jam, Cypress Hill).

"MUSICBLITZ is committed to giving music fans the best online resource for free and exclusive music downloads, and we believe that this commitment must be reflected in the company leadership," added Glover. "Our collective experience in the music industry also puts us in a prime position to change the rules and give established and up-and-coming artists the ability to record new music on more artist-friendly terms."
