Welcome !
    Paul Simon
One of the most talented singer/songwriters of the last three decades, Paul Simon first found musical success in 1957, when at the age of 16, he and partner Art Garfunkel (as Tom & Jerry) recorded a song called "Hey Schoolgirl." Simon would go on to chart as Jerry Landis and with Tico and the Triumphs in the early '60s, before reuniting with Garfunkel and releasing their first album under their own names, 1964's Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. Without their knowledge, an executive at Columbia Records added drums, bass, and electric guitar to their song "The Sound of Silence," which went on to become the duo's first Number One hit.

Simon & Garfunkel parlayed their success into a string of classic records throughout the late '60s. In 1968, they scored Mike Nichols' film, The Graduate. The soundtrack album was Simon & Garfunkel's greatest success to that date, earning Grammy awards for Best Song and Best Album. By 1970, the duo's friendship was feeling the strain of stardom, but their last album together, Bridge Over Troubled Water, was a certified smash, winning five Grammys.

Simon continued as a solo artist, with such critically and commercially acclaimed albums as There Goes Rhymin' Simon (1973) and Still Crazy After All These Years (1975). Still Crazy was also noteworthy for the inclusion of the track "My Little Town," which found him working with Garfunkel for the first time since the breakup.

Simon spent much of the mid-'80s studying South African music. Enthralled by the rhythms, he spent 1985 in Johannesburg, working with indigenous musicians such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The resultant album, 1986's Graceland, is now hailed as a classic that helped introduce world music to the Western world. It also returned Simon to the top of the charts, and won the Grammy for Album of the Year. His follow-up, 1990's The Rhythm of the Saints, added Brazilian sounds to the mix, and Simon toured the world with a multi-cultural band.

In 1996, Simon took his first stab at Broadway. Unfortunately, the resulting musical, The Capeman, was both critically drubbed and commercially unsuccessful. More successful has been his marriage singer/songwriter Edie Brickell, which has produced two children. You're The One was released in October 2000.

Paul Simon That's Where I Belong LiquidAudio Pop
Onetime pop guru has taken a sharp turn down Anti-Craft Avenue on this aimlessly meandering and virtually hook-free ballad. Soft, subdued, and subtle to a fault, this number never really kicks in and fizzles out fast.

Paul Simon You're The One LiquidAudio Pop
A tantalizing sneak peak at his forthcoming new album of the same name, "You're The One" finds Simon back at the top of his world music-influenced game.
