Welcome !
    Strung Out
Hailing from West Hills and Simi Valley CA, Strung Out formed in 1992 in true punk spirit. Going against the grain of the more prevalent three piece/three chord sound, Strung Out was conceived as a five-piece: Jason Cruz (vocals), Jake Kiley (guitar), Robert Ramos (guitar), Jim (bass, later replaced by Chris Aiken) and Jordan Burns (drums). The band’s five-piece ferocity enabled them to begin creating their trademark criss-crossing guitar licks and winding bass lines, elevating them above numerous punk bands springing to life at the same time. Strung Out’s unique sound quickly got them signed under the auspices of Fat Wreck Chords. By 1994, Strung Out had finished their first LP, Another Day in Paradise -- a true gem that clocks its 13 songs of pure punk riffs in at a total of 27 minutes, 18 seconds.

After the completion of their first official record, Strung Out catalyzed the expansion of their solid fan base by heading out on the Vans Warped tour. Gaining notoriety in the underground and skate scenes throughout the US, Strung Out went back into the studio to compose their second and best received album, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues. Hardly satisfied, Strung Out continued to pound out as many tunes as possible for happy punkers to enjoy. 1998 saw three releases by the band -- they had enough new material to release both an EP entitled Crossroads and Illusions and the full length Twisted by Design, and well as the retrospective The Skinny Years Before We Got Fat.

2000 proved to be another step forward for Strung Out, as they continued to build their legacy on Fat Wreck Chords with the EP The Element of Sonic Defiance. Elaborating on metal core elements with melodious punk juxtapositions, Strung Out is clearly ready to bring their musical capabilities to the fans as they head out on the Transonic Tour 2000 to continue defying the norms of today’s music.
