Welcome !
    Spragga Benz
The man known simply as Spragga is a surprisingly softspoken and shy gent who can turn into a slackness-spouting terror once he hits the mic, and became one of Jamaica’s best-known DJs during the ‘90s. Born Carlton Grant in the Dunkirk section of Kingston in 1969, he escaped the crushing poverty of many of his contemporaries, and attended Jamaica’s Maritime Institute after high school, with plans to one day work on a ship. But that dream was interrupted by his friend, the DJ Buju Banton, who got him thinking about music by daring Spragga to voice his own toasts over a set of blank dubplates. Soon afterwards, Spragga – who got his nickname because of his long, spaghetti-like limbs – was in the studio for real, recording early hits like “Jump Up and Swear” for the Stone Love label and soon-to-be uber-producer Dave Kelly’s “Things A Gwaan.” Those singles were collected along with his breakout hit “Jack It Up” on a 1994 VP Records album of the same name, and for his next outing, Benz signed to Capitol, which released “Uncommonly Smooth” in 1995. Even hits such as “A-1 Lover” and crossover work with artists like the R&B duo Charles & Eddie didn’t get Spragga a second shot on Capitol, but undaunted, he continued his high-profile collaborations, joining Wyclef Jean on a smash remix of “All the Girls.” He also continued to burn up the dancehall charts back home in Jamaica, giving international fans a chance to catch up on two recent releases. “Two Bad DJs,” a collaboration with Beenie Man, came out in 1997, while 2000 saw the unveiling of “Fully Loaded,” a collection of recent singles on VP.

Spragga Benz Jack It Up MP3 Reggae
If you can back it up, you can “Jack It Up” -- and Spragga does here! This is the dancehall hit that put da Benz on a collision course with big fame.

Spragga Benz Mur-da-rah MP3 Reggae
Another killer tune from the dancehall “Mur-Da-Rah”! Spragga brings some jungle to his jingle about a sexed-up, mixed-up female!
