Welcome !
    In Flames
Somewhere along the line metal became one of Sweden’s most successful exports, and In Flames have been leading the charge where At The Gates left off. Through nearly a decade of churning out melodic thrash in the classic mold, In Flames have undergone a mind-numbing number of lineup changes since they first appeared on the scene. Originating from a demo developed by Jesper Strömblad, Johan Larsson and Glenn Ljungström, the group was signed by Wrong Again before they had even written a full album’s worth of material. Borrowing members from Dark Tranquility, Ceremonial Oath, Tiamat, Dawn, Sacrilige, Eucharist, Arch Enemy and Armageddon, In Flames have established themselves as surrogate champs of the Euro-metal genre, with a grip that has grown tighter with each progressive release. On the strength of 1994’s full album Lunar Strain and mini-CD Subterranean, In Flames landed a deal with German metal monarchs Nuclear Blast. Subsequent NB releases including 1995’s landmark The Jester Race, 1997’s Whoracle, 1999’s Colony and 2000’s Clayman have continued the Flamers’ Maiden-esque dual guitar attack, grit-meets- melody vocals, and folk-inspired interludes. The current lineup of Björn Gelotte (Guitars, formerly on drums), Daniel Svensson (Drums), Peter Iwers (Bass), Jesper Strömblad (Guitars) and Anders Fridén (Vocals) -- all intact since Colony -- finds the metal legends in fine shape, and showing no signs of letting up.
