Erasure
One of the defining bands of the '80s synth-pop movement, Erasure were formed in 1985 by former Depeche Mode and Yaz member Vince Clarke and singer Andy Bell. The group became a sensation in its native country, releasing three No.1 U.K. albums in the late '80s/early '90s. Though the duo's popularity declined somewhat in the coming years, it continued releasing albums throughout the '90s. Never as big of a hit in the States as they were in Britain, Erasure still enjoyed American success with their 1988 singles "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect," as well as with the single "Always" in 1994. |
