DJ Krush
Inspired by the American b-boys he saw on the Japanese leg of the Wildstyle Tour, Hideaki Ishii started experimenting with turntables in the mid-'80s. He took the name DJ Krush, releasing his debut in Japan only. Soon his abstract, mostly instrumental brand of hip-hop came to the attention of London's influential Mo'Wax label. In recent years, Krush has flexed his experimental muscles, working with producer Bill Laswell, trumpeter Toshinori Kondo, and others. |
