Jay and Jeremy Popoff in 1990. After several years of playing out, the quartet was headlining and selling out local gigs. Their eclectic 1997 self-released full-length, Tripping the Light Fantastic, pricked the ears of college-radio listeners as well as RCA, which offered the band a contract.
