A young veteran of the Philly club scene, Pink was first spotted at Club Fever by an MCA rep, who hooked her up with a new trio called Basic Instinct. That group folded, as did another trio, Choice -- but Pink had caught the ear of label founders L.A. Reid and Babyface, who liked her compositions and gave her a solo deal.
