Re-tooling the Morbid Angel model of blinding aggression and progression, the album established Vader as one the new death-metal heavyweights. However, the band parted ways with Earache in ’96 and hooked up with Pavement Music, for whom they’d record four studio records, two live ones, and a collection of old demos during the next four years.
