Welcome !
    Uncle Kracker
If Uncle Kracker sounds a lot like his Detroit homeboy Kid Rock, well, he's got that right. For the better part of the latter's upstart rap-rock career, Kracker (born Matt Shafer) has been the man spinning the tables in Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker band. Rock and Kracker's relationship, both musically and personally, goes back even further when the two met at an all-night DJ competition in the popular Claussen, MI, nightspot, Daytona's. The pair shared tastes in music, from the Commodores and Bob Seger to Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and became fast friends. Kracker joined Rock's band after Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast and appeared on all of Rock's records, including the multi-platinum smash Devil Without a Cause as a DJ. Kracker recorded his solo debut, Double Wide, on the back of the tour bus during the hectic Devil tour. Featuring members of Twisted Brown Trucker, as well as guest vocals and co-songwriting credits from Rock, Kracker's Top Dog/Lava/ Atlantic debut has been hailed as a success by the music press and is considered more pop accessible than Rock's mosh-pit pimping. A song from the album, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah," was featured in the Jackie Chan flick Shanghai Noon and "What'chu Lookin' At" appeared in the Tom Cruise vehicle Mission: Impossible 2.

Uncle Kracker Follow Me LiquidAudio Alt-Country
Here's a nice little slice of country twang dipped in chunky hip-hop beats from Uncle Kracker. Not a bad first-at-bat from the Kid Rock deputy and card-carrying white-trasher. Check it out if you're feeling like somethin' down home.
