In 1993, he set up Bad Boy Entertainment out of his apartment where he signed rappers Craig Mack and Notorious B.I.G. In the mid-90's, Combs branched out to the R&B world and released records by Faith Evans and 112. The mogul has also taken a front seat in the studio by producing artists such a Lil' Kim, LL Cool J, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey and Aretha Franklin.
