Buddy Miller
An acclaimed singer and sought-after songwriter, Buddy Miller has kicked around in country music circles since the late '60s, when he began playing stand-up bass with a high school bluegrass band. after picking up the acoustic guitar, he formed the Buddy Miller Band, a well-traveled ensemble that included Shawn Colvin on guitar and vocals. Eventually, Miller found his way to Nashville, where he formed a writing partnership with Jim Lauderdale and played on records by Vitctoria Williams, Heather Myles and others. Miller's wife Julie is also a highly-respected recording artist, and the two have had their songs picked up by Brooks & Dunn, Lee Ann Womack, The Dixie Chicks, and several other established country artists. Cruel Moon, Miller's latest album, was released in 1999. |
