Lizzy Borden
A blood-soaked footnote in the history of American heavy metal, Lizzy Borden achieved a small but rabid cult following in the 1980s, thanks to his pop-metal sound and outrageous, Alice Cooper-style live show. Rising out of the same Los Angeles scene that produced Motley Crue, Ratt, W.A.S.P. and Quiet Riot, Lizzy debuted on wax with 1984's Give Em The Axe, the first of many records he would release on Enigma/Metal Blade. Though his albums never cracked the Billboard Hot 100, Lizzy's reputation for onstage mayhem ensured sell-outs everywhere he toured. In 1988, Lizzy appeared in The Decline of Western Civilization, Part 2: The Metal Years; in 1989, he recorded Master of Disguise, a concept album that many of his fans believed to be his finest work. Lizzy then seemed to vanish for the better part of the '90s, touring occasionally but avoiding the studio all together. In October 2000, he finally returned with Deal With The Devil, an all-new collection of tracks featuring guitarist Alex Nelson, bassist Marten Andersson, and drummer Joey Scott. |
