Welcome !
    Clubhouse Pow!
Rising from the ashes of the popular Wisconsin-based bands Boy Wonder and Decodering, Clubhouse Pow! came together shortly after both bands broke up in 1998. Brothers, songwriters, and guitarists Ben and Jeremy Gordon came from Boy Wonder, who'd been named the Best Original Band in the Green Bay Press Gazette's reader's poll two years running, won a National Broadcasting Society award for Best Music Video, and showcased at N.A.C.A. Drummer Kris Schaefer and bassist Cheryl Peterson had also showcased at N.A.C.A. with Decodering, and thanks to the popularity of the two bands, Clubhouse Pow! immediately packed Green Bay clubs. Finding Green Bay a bit small as a home base, the quartet moved to Minneapolis in June of 1999, and soon after, released their debut EP, Five Spankings. Their hooky, quirky, and unique sound has drawn rave critical reviews, and (separately or together), they've opened for acts as diverse as Cheap Trick, Material Issue, the BoDeans, the Honeydogs, and Citizen King. In early 2001, Ben, Jeremy and Pow! were named finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for the tracks "Call It Mine" and "Spinning Around"; the latter, the first single from Five Spankings, is available for download exclusively at MUSICBLITZ!
