Welcome !
    Blues Traveler
Based in New York and lead by the formidable harmonica-shredding force known as John Popper, Blues Traveler formed in 1988 and went on to pave the way for an army of up-and-coming jambands. Popper and high-school friend Brendan Hill (drums) teamed up in 1983 and tooled around for a while before the addition of Chan Kinchla on guitar and Bobby Sheehan on bass. Debuting with Blues Traveler -- which spawned the minor hit “But Anyway” -- in 1990, and quickly following with Travelers and Thieves in ’91, the band toured (Popper assisted with the launching of the HORDE tour in the early ‘90s) and forged a name for themselves until an unfortunate auto-accident left Popper wheelchair-bound. With Popper on the mend, Save His Soul was released in ’93, and was the bands first release to hit the Top 100. Finally finding popular success with “Run-Around” from 1994’s Four, Blues Traveler found themselves with a quintuple-platinum selling album. 1996 found the band capitalizing on their concert experience and success with Live From the Fall which was followed in ’97 by Straight On ‘Til Morning. Popper released his first solo album, Zygote in 1999, just a few months before the untimely death of Sheehan in his New Orleans home. Sheehan was replaced by Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson joined on keyboards. The band continues to be one of the most successful touring acts on the jamband circuit.

Well, at least we know what Kevin Costner’ll probably pick as the theme song should he ever decide to do a Robin Hood sequel. Stay thee away!
