Welcome !
    Los Lobos
A total anomaly in a world of one-hit wonders and manufactured pop stars, Los Lobos have been playing music together since 1973, when guitarist/singer Cesar Rosas, singer/accordionist David Hidalgo, bassist Conrad Lozano and drummer Louie Perez first got together to jam in an East L.A. living room. Boasting a wide array of influences ranging from traditional Mexican folk music to late-'60s psychedelia, the band has pushed the stylistic envelope with each release, resulting in a body of work that is unified yet has never sounded exactly the same. After releasing a couple of independent EPs, the band recorded their first major-label album, How Will The Wolf Survive?, in 1984. Ttheir lone chart-topping hit came three years later, ironically with a version of Richie Valens' "La Bamba," recorded for the soundtrack of the 1987 film of the same name. Rather than let themselves get painted into an "oldies rock" corner, the band then released a series of stunning and diverse records (1988's La Pistola Y El Corazon, 1990's The Neighborhood and 1992's Kiko) which firmly established Los Lobos as a group with a powerful original voice -- a reputation they uphold to this day. Mas Y Mas, a career-spanning box set, was released in the fall of 2000.

This live cover of one of the Beatles' greatest songs can't quite match the original -- what could? -- but still gives plenty of psychedelic bang for yer buck.
