In addition to drumming with the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, he's appeared on records by R.L. Burnside, Andre Williams, Ween, Yoko Ono, Luscious Jackson, Butter 08 and Crunt. A frequent contributor to the Beastie Boys' now-defunct fanzine Grand Royal, Simins is also one of the world's foremost experts on "Weird Al" Yankovic.
