King Black Acid
Originally a solo home taping project for Hitting Birth bassist Daniel Riddle, King Black Acid grew into a full-fledged band as Riddle became more interested in exploring a psychedelic, guitar-oriented, indie sound. Taking up the guitar himself, Riddle joined forces with guitarist Roger Campos, bassist Nathan Jorg, keyboardist Melinda DiCillo, and drummers Scott Adamo and Joseph Trump to make King Black Acid a full band. By 1995, they’d released their debut record, Womb Star Session, which added a little bluesy flavor to the band’s My Bloody Valentine-inspired sound. They quickly followed up with 1996’s Sunlit and 1997’s Royal Subjects, then took a three-year break. They returned late in 2000 with Loves a Love Song. |
