She and partner Jennifer Kimball produced two critically-acclaimed discs, Grace in Gravity and the Angel in the House, prior to splitting in 1994. By then, Brooke’s fans were primed for her 1995 solo release, Plumb, which she recorded under the moniker Jonatha Brooke and the Story. The record played up the artist’s affinity for sophisticated wordplay and intelligent, soothing melodicism. Her official solo debut 10-cent Wings, appeared in 1997, followed by the live recording, appropriately titled Live, and the latest disc, Steady Pull.
