The Kennedys
Fixtures of the acoustic music scene as both performers and songwriters, Pete and Maura Kennedy met at a guitar pull in Austin, Texas. Pete has played guitar with Nanci Griffith and Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Maura sang harmony vocals with Griffith and penned songs for Warner Music. The duo debuted in 1995 with the Celtic-tinged folk record, River of Fallen Stars, then released the rocking Life is Large. Their latest record, Evolver (a pun on the Beatles Revolver) recalls the ‘60s pop of their youth but also experiments with electronic elements. |
