Welcome !
    Deftones
With a mere three albums under their belts, the Deftones have certified themselves as masters of their own destiny. Often erroneously likened to the mook-metal of Korn and Limp Bizkit, the Sacramento, California quintet has successfully juggled both commercial success and critical credibility, adeptly walking the fine line between art and commerce – no small feat in itself. The band (then a quartet) debuted in 1995 with Adrenaline, an awe-inspiring album that displayed how much the ‘tones already had their shit together. A steady buzz – mainly from their whiplashing live shows – built around the band the two years following the debut and culminated in their second album, Around the Fur. From that point on (’97), the Deftones became the critics’ darlings and rock-radio faves, due in no small part to MTV’s steady rotation of that album’s lead single, the scorching and accessible “My Own Summer (Shove It),” and its vivid accompanying video. But for all the naysayers hoping for the Deftones’ fall from grace, it ain’t happening with the album, White Pony, released in the Summer of 2000. Though White Pony may seem like a deceptive title for such an aggressive bunch, it’s really not: Since the beginning, the ‘tones have always had a soft, white underbelly (however dark in nature), presumably stemming from the band’s collective appreciation of the Cure.

Deftones Back To School (Mini Maggit) WinMedia Metal
Freaks and Geeks everywhere prepare an uprising as the always-incendiary Deftones take us "Back To School." Jocks and groovies be forewarned.

Deftones Change (In the House of Flies) MP3 Metal
One of the ‘tones most sensitive and intense moments, “Change” hypnotizes the soul for five minutes, then burns a black stain on it. Godly!
