Kina stepped in, toured and performed on Brownstone’s second album, Still Climbing (1997). She then left the group to go solo, revamping her smooth-soul style and going in a more rock ‘n’ roll influenced direction, conjuring comparisons to Tina Turner and Macy Gray.
