Alison Krauss
As the only bluegrass act to continually pull in gold and platinum album certifications, Alison Krauss and Union Station (currently comprised of guitarist Dan Tyminski, guitarist/banjo player Ron Block, bassist Barry Bales and Dobro player Jerry Douglass) first achieved stardom with 1995’s Now That I’ve Found You, after yielding hits with “When You Say Nothing At All” and “Baby, Now That I’ve Found You.” Krauss, a Champaign, Illinois-native who released her first record, Too Late To Cry at 16, has been earning accolades ever since. With her 1999 album, Forget About It, Krauss (sans Union Station) took a slight detour away from her bluegrass roots for a more polished, contemporary country sound. |
