Gran Torino
Straight outta Knoxville comes this 9-piece well-oiled funk and soul machine. Comprised of (here we go): Steve Decker (lead guitar, backup vocals), Scott Pederson (trumpet, trombone, baritone sax, keyboards and backup vocals), Todd Overstreet (bass), Jason Thompson (tenor, baritone and soprano sax), Whit Pfohl (drums), Pee-Jay Alexander (trumpet, trombone and keys), Chris Ford (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Dexter Murphy (trombone, Fender Rhodes and Hammond organ) and David Heyer (drums), Gran Torino have built their reputation by playing upwards of 200 shows a year, focusing their attack on the Southern U.S. region. Gran Torino Two, the follow up to their debut, Gran Torino One, was released in 2000.
