Slightly Stoopid Down To Tha Last Roach (Live) Album: n/a
Genres: Reggae
More-than-slightly-stupid rap track is lyrically void and totally burnt out in the inspiration department. Unfettered rock/reggae instrumentation lays a simple sonic bed for a lead rap that is the audio equivalent to rancid bongwater.
This 1968 rocksteady instrumental (featuring a rare alto sax solo!) should give you a good indication of why Roland Alphonso was a legend in Jamaican music.
Great live performances are hard to find, but Steel Pulse gives a good shot at it with their roosty jungle rendition of the song "Ku Klux Klan." It may not be stellar, but at least it's different.
